At the time of placing an order an estimated delivery timescale shall be given, which is associated with each  furniture, carpet, curtaining product, and we will make every effort to deliver your goods within this timescale.  However, delays can occasionally occur due to unforeseen factors out with our control.  Ian R Taylor (company) shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within estimated timescales.


Delivery charges apply,   which shall be discussed at the point of ordering.   Where an order contains multiple items from different manufacturers’ goods will be delivered in one delivery when all items are available, unless otherwise agreed.

 In addition should furniture require assembly by Ian R Taylor (company) further charges shall apply, which shall also be discussed at time of order.


It is the customers responsibility to ensure adequate access at the point of delivery.  Should there not be adequate access further charges may apply for creating access.  Ian R Taylor (company) are not liable for any damages if asked to create adequate access.


In order to ensure a hassle free delivery  please ensure:

  1. Measure the height and width of any hallways and door accesses, as well as the entry clearance.
  2. Check the dimensions of the furniture in order to ensure the items will fit.
  3. Clear plenty of space to allow for the delivery and any packaging materials.


Sale items bought off the shop floor, reduced to clear, are sold as seen, customers are asked to check these over prior to signing their order form. 



We offer standard carpet fitting within our prices .  Standard carpet fitting is providing the rooms are free from all moveable furniture, the old flooring is uplifted and is free of any debris.  Should you require Ian R Taylor (company) to provide this service additional charges will apply, which can be discussed at time of ordering.   Upon agreeing to this additional service you are also agreeing that  Ian R Taylor (company) shall not be liable for any damages.  Additional charges shall also apply should old flooring require to be uplifted/disposed of.  PLEASE NOTE neither Ian R Taylor (company)  or  our fitters will disconnect and move white goods.

 Delivery of goods is an estimated timescale associated with individual manufacturers, where we will make every effort to get goods delivered on time, delays can occasionally occur due to unforeseen factors out with our control.  We shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within estimated timescales.

It is the responsibility of the consumer to make sure that doors open and close over the new floor coverings.  Ian R Taylor (company)  is not responsible for the removal and cutting of doors.


We work on a ‘supply only’ basis within this department.   Independent associates may be used to hang and fit these, but the customer deals directly in respect of this.  Ian R Taylor (company) is not responsible for the disposal of packaging.


Pricing and Payment

We are very careful to ensure that all our prices are correct.  However, if we on a rare occasion discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price, or cancelling it. 


We offer a discounted price as standard from the normal selling price of goods, providing our payment terms are met.


Payment terms are:-

  1. Deposit at the time of ordering followed by
  2. Full payment either by cash, cheque, most major debit/credit cards or BACS transfer, upon arrangement of delivery/fitting or at the time of delivery/fitting. 
  3. Should full payment not be received within 7 days of deliver/fitting the full NSP, Normal selling Price, shall be charged.


Should Ian R Taylor (company) agree for goods being returned for refund the value of the goods shall be returned by the same method as was originally used for payment.  The original delivery charge will not be refunded and there may be a further charge for the uplift and return of goods, which shall be discussed.


Damage, Incomplete or Defective Goods

Nothing under this heading affects your statutory rights.

Every effort will be made to ensure that the product(s) you have ordered arrive undamaged, complete and without defect.  We will ask you to examine the product(s) in the presence of our delivery/fitting crew and if you find the product(s) to be defective in any way, this should be noted on the delivery/fitting documentation and upon their return to the store will pass this to management, and a member of staff shall contact you within 24 hours.



Changes and cancellations

You have a legal right to cancel/change your order, but as our products are ordered specifically for you, there is limited time, in  which this can be carried out, and does not apply to custom made orders.


When orders are placed, with the manufacturer, we have a very limited time in which to change/cancel the order.  Should the order have gone into production with the supplier, the order cannot be amended or cancelled, and payment should be made to Ian R Taylor (company) in full, upon receipt of the goods.  .




We aim to deal with any complains as effectively and quickly as possible.  You can notify us of any complaints:-

  2. By telephone - 01738 552305 during opening hours between 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am - 4pm Saturday.

A likely timescale of resolution will be provided upon request, but this timescale will be dependent on the specific nature of the complaint.  If we need to contact you, or give you any notice in writing, we will do so by email.
